Relaxation therapy (Private Session)

15 February 2010

Relaxation Therapy is a process that focuses on using a combination of Relaxation Techniques (Deep Breathing / Progressive Muscle Relaxation / Autogenic Training / Meditation / Guided Imagery / Visualisation / Positive Thinking)  in order to deal with stress and unanticipated situations that produce a great deal of physical and emotional tension. Some of the methods and techniques used in Relaxation Therapy go back thousands of years, while others are still being developed. But they are all based on the effect that the mind has on the body.

Relaxation Therapies are non-intrusive and gentle and can help treat anxiety, panic attacks, depression, high and low blood pressure and mental and physical problems caused through stress. They help to keep the immune system healthy, to increase focus, concentration and memory, to increase self-confidence and self-esteem and to greatly improve overall feelings of happiness and wellbeing.

Relaxation Therapy has also been studied quite a bit for the relief of chronic pain and insomnia, which affect millions of people every day. Relaxation Therapy can help a person deal with these conditions without medication or surgery. Many people prefer a method of relaxation to other treatments that may be costly, invasive or have side effects. They are not difficult to learn and cost very little and have no known side effects.
Once you have gained confidence in your ability to utilize Relaxation Therapy, you can employ the strategy any time that you feel your stress level rising. Regular practice on a daily basis can produce, over time, a general feeling of relaxation and wellbeing that benefits every area of your life. When you feel relaxed and at ease you are less likely to turn on the anxiety response and will find that you feel more in control most of the time.
€ 60.00 per session
